This week at Midas 12th-16th October

A new Private Eye Annual, talks at Cliveden Literary Festival and a new series from The Walking Tree – here’s what’s been happening at Midas this week.

01

Midas X The Walking Tree

Midas is thrilled to be working with a brand-new independent publisher, The Walking Tree, who is launching a global literary series to “travel with writers” in January 2027. Made to be read in a single sitting, each book is dedicated to a different city and is written by an acclaimed author who has called that place home.

Their first titles will be:

  • NEW YORK by Catherine Lacey

  • TOKYO by Emily Itami

  • SAO PAULO by Brian Winter

  • ROME by Eleonora Marangoni

02

Andy Day at Cheltenham Literature Festival

Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival this Sunday, 18th October. His sold-out event invites audience members to sing, draw, laugh, and learn alongside Andy as he talks all things ‘Dino Racers’. Andy will be staying on afterward to sign books and meet fans!

03

The Private Eye Annual

We’re thrilled to be working once again with Private Eye on their perennial Christmas bestseller, now in its 30th year – the Private Eye Annual (out 29th October). The Annual returns for another hilarious take on the year just gone, compiled by the brilliant Ian Hislop, who is celebrating his 40th anniversary as Private Eye editor this year.

04

Book Lover’s Spotlight with Salma El-Wardany

This week Bookshop.org collaborated with author, poet and broadcaster Salma El-Wardany for a Book Lover’s Spotlight on her favourite books written by women. You can see Salma’s full list of recommendations here.
