The Brief
Artes Mundi is the largest art prize in the UK and the awards show is Wales’ biggest contemporary visual art exhibition. Midas was retained for 10 years to raise its brand awareness internationally & position it as a legitimate alternative to the Turner Prize.
The Work
Across our ten years as PR partner, we built partnerships with national and regional media, issued releases at every key stage of the prize, and ran press previews that drew leading critics. We secured coverage beyond the arts pages, positioned Cardiff as a cultural hotspot, and raised the profile of the artists and the Curator and Director.
The Results
Coverage included Guardian, Mail on Sunday, FT Weekend, Metro, The Observer, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The Times, i Newspaper, & BBC Radio 3: Free Thinking, with BBC News Arts Editor Will Gompertz calling it "my favourite prize".
