The Brief
Midas were appointed to deliver a high-profile publicity campaign for True Crime, the highly-anticipated memoir of Patricia Cornwell, securing sensitive, wide-reaching coverage across the UK while co-ordinating activity with international publicity teams.
The Work
We developed a joined-up media strategy with the publishers and US publicists, securing a flagship interview in The Times Magazine alongside national coverage in PA Media, Hello!, the Daily Mail, Fabulous and Woman & Home. We also managed a carefully targeted reviews campaign and co-ordinated publicity across Ireland and Italy. When Patricia's planned UK visit was cancelled for security reasons, we quickly pivoted to remote interviews, ensuring key broadcast opportunities with BBC World Service and BBC Central News Service still went ahead.
The Results
Despite significant logistical challenges, the campaign generated extensive print, broadcast, podcast and online coverage in the UK and internationally. Our agile approach maintained momentum through publication and positioned True Crime as a major publishing event.
